Metamorphosis of a Nation designed by Amalie Beljafla. The powerful concept behind this surreal, bold and symbolic carpet, ‘Metamorphosis of a Nation, is a reflection of the organic growth and strong values that have led to the evolution of our nation in the past five decades.
The UAE has evolved into a globally successful nation under the great vision and leadership of the late beloved father and founder of our nation H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. His generosity at home and abroad, vision, foresight, moral ethics and devotion to his people have been at the core of the UAE’s continuous evolution.
The carpet’s background is a light turquoise colour: symbolising our connection and oneness with the sea and nature. The hand-painted botanical leaves are connected and adorned with different species of insects: symbolising the diversity of the UAE and tolerance for all religions, nationalities and ethnic backgrounds.
