The You & I rug collection began with a request from FBMI, an initiative based in Kabul to empower women carpet weavers in Afghanistan. Inspired by a phrase from the poetry of the Persian poet, Jalal-Din Rumi, “apparently two, but one in soul,” the You & I rug collection is an embodiment of the values at the core of the Nada Debs brand. The rug strikes a balance between the old and new, and serves as a bridge between cultures, celebrating local know-how in harmony with global trends. It is also a sacred communion in which the skilled women weave, where they transfer heart and soul into matter.
